Higgins honored with 2024 Women’s Health Research Mentorship Award

Jenny Higgins, PhD, MPHJenny Higgins, director of the UW Collaborative for Reproductive Equity, is the 2024 recipient of the Women’s Health Research Mentorship Award. This honor is co-sponsored by the UW School of Medicine and Public Health Group on Women in Medicine and Science and the Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health program.

The award recognizes the impactful mentorship of women scientists who foster successful careers in women’s health and sex/gender differences research. It was presented at the annual GWIMS Leadership Symposium on Dec. 5.

In addition to directing CORE, Higgins is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology and directs the department’s Population and Reproductive Health Division. Trained in gender studies and public health, she conducts mixed-methods research on abortion and contraception, often in collaboration with trainees and mentees in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, CORE Lab, and across campus.
