Jenny Higgins is Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Obstetrics and Gynecology at UW-Madison. She moved to Madison in 2011 and has loved her time as a Badger. Trained in both gender studies and public health, Jenny conducts mixed-methods research on abortion, contraception, and other aspects of reproductive health. Over 60 peer-reviewed publications, many co-authored with trainees and mentees, share results from this research.
Jenny serves as CORE Director and Research Hub Co-Advisor. She is also Principal Investigator of the Sexual Acceptability’s Role in Women’s Contraceptive Preference and Behavior and Religious Restrictions on Reproductive Healthcare: Wisconsin Patient Perspectives projects, Co-Principal Investigator of the Patient and Provider Experiences with Medication Abortion in Wisconsin project, and Co-Investigator of the Physician Attitudes toward Abortion Access at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health project.
Jenny is also the Director of the Population and Reproductive Health Division within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
