Launch of the UW Collaborative for Reproductive Equity

We are delighted to announce the launch of the UW Collaborative for Reproductive Equity (CORE). CORE is a campus-wide initiative focused on reproductive health research and translation to address critical needs in reproductive health and healthcare in Wisconsin. Based in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, CORE is led by Director Jenny Higgins, PhD, MPH, Associate Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Obstetrics and Gynecology, Associate Director Amy Williamson, MPP, and a team of interdisciplinary researchers, trainees, and engagement and communications specialists.

CORE’s mission is to conduct and translate rigorous, interdisciplinary research to inform policies and programs so that all Wisconsin residents may live with reproductive autonomy – able to make decisions about their reproductive health and access needed services without interference or coercion.

CORE currently has seven research projects in the field. These studies are led by researchers from a variety of disciplines, including economics, journalism and mass communication, obstetrics and gynecology, political science, public affairs, sociology, and social work.
